Ready Player One – Retro Review
Once in a while there comes a film that reminds us of our love for cinema. Bringing to life beloved stories that we hold dear. Capturing the hearts and souls of many. It is a one of a kind experience that many of us crave. While coming together that helps shape our obsession for the theater.
Ready Player One directed by Steven Spielberg, shines through on screen as one the best most talked about films to come in 2018. A universe filled with the unimaginable created by author and writer of the book, Ernest Cline.
Set in the near future of year 2045, Ready Player one takes us on an adventure where the planet is on the brink of chaos. People have grown desperate, and are now finding solace in a virtual reality universe called the OASIS.
After the death of the creator James Halliday, a contest is held amongst the best players in the world in finding a digital easter egg that grants them total control of the virtual dystopia itself. Determined to win at all cost, a young man by the name of Wade Watts sets out on a journey alongside his comrades in fighting against the corrupt corporation known as IOI (Innovative Online Industries). In hopes of saving the world from a collapse that could spell the end of everything as they know it.
Ready Player One acts as a fresh new spin on pop culture that adds as a standalone story filled with awe and wonder. Bringing together past and new generations alike. Spielberg outdoes himself here and gives us a a film that’s one for the ages. Consisted with a brilliant cast led by two amazing leads in Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke. Ready Player One is an outstanding film that serves as a message to all that we should always live as if each day were our last. While remembering that no matter what, our desire for a better tomorrow can only be accomplished once we stand together and unite as one.
Filled with love, danger, mystery, & discovery, Ready Player One is a fantastic film that accomplishes the impossible, and brings us into an amazing new era of filmmaking that is sure to leave a strong lasting impression on audiences everywhere.
