Scream VI Review: A thrilling Joy ride from start to finish!
Slasher films have always held a special place in the horror genre. Delivering some of the most popular horror icons in cinema. Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, & Charles Lee Ray other wise known to many as the toy stalker Chucky. But out of all the names mentioned, one franchise that has continued to be a success across the medium with horror fans is none other than the late Wes craven’s Scream. Giving us audiences another legendary icon in the popular serial killer ghostface.
Written & produced by Kevin Williamson, and now directed & led by Ready or Not’s duo filmmakers Matt Bettineilli Olpin and Tyler Gillet, scream has now hit it’s sixth installment. Delivering what many is calling “the best since the original.”
A thrilling and intense joy ride from start to finish, with a growing and likeable cast that continues to become fan favorites in Melissa Barrera, & Jenna Ortega whom lead the ship with two incredible performances becoming the new faces of the franchise. Along with returning stars in Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Courtney Cox, Hayden Panetierre, & Skeet Ulrich.
Scream VI is one hell of a good time and is as every bit as fun as the trailers give off. Ghostface is back and is as ruthless as ever. Giving us some awesome scares many have been yearning to see on screen. Directors Matt Olpin and Tyler Gillet have both bought something unique and different with the genre this time around. Whilst adding some amazingly satisfying twists that are sure to have fans come back for more.
If you’ve been a fan of the franchise since 1996’s original, this is what you’ve been waiting for. An amazing slasher that doesn’t hold any stops and gives away in the end, an incredible pay off that I myself couldn’t be more happy with.
Hoping to see this same focus and energy bought to the sequel. I really enjoyed this one and I believe many other than myself will as well. To my readers, go out and support this film. The cast and crew have really put their own stamp here, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work that’s been done. Amazing job by everyone. Can’t wait to see what they do the next.
