Directed by David Fincher and written by Andrew Kevin Walker comes The Killer. An noir psychological crime thriller solely based on the French graphic novel of the same name written by author Alex Nolent and illustrated by Luc Jacamon. This incredibly well-made film centers on an titular assassin who battles his employers as well as himself on an intentional manhunt.

Over the years, David Fincher has become a director well known for delivering some of the most spectacular films in cinema history. Coming off of titles such as The Social Network, The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, Fight Club, Panic Room, Gone Girl, and of course the fan-favorite critically acclaimed crime thriller, Se7en.

Now partnered with Netflix, Fincher has achieved yet again another smashing hit amongst screens, and may even get another academy award nomination for best director next year. Any high expectations one may have had for this film I’m proud to say is met and then some. Rivaling other action franchises in John Wick and Equalizer, Fincher is able to give away a story that places us in the mind of an relentless assassin. While showcasing to us the damaging effects that life can have on the loved ones around them.

Beautifully well shot, and wonderfully well-written, The Killer acts as one the best crime-thrillers to arrive this year, and manages to takes us into a dark noir world where allies and enemies align.

It is an amazing well told tale that brings an overall new spin on thrillers in general, and is sure to win over audiences worldwide. I recommend anyone who has a chance to, go and see it as early as possible. Take my word, it is downright worth the watch!

Screenings are now open for October with an official release coming November 10th on Netflix. Hope you all enjoyed this review and share your comments with us through Twitter. Thanks for reading and until next time, peace!
